yet another striped shirt

yes, i know, striped shirts are ubiquitous nowadays. but i'm really fond of half-sleeves like this wood wood top.

i also think the slightly over-sized fit of this toast breton top is lovely. it's hard to tell if it would hang so perfectly on me, though! there's always saint james, too.
regarding trousers: any recommendations? something with a more fitted ankle, not too tight, not too baggy.

  1. Zara has some really fantastic pants right now. I bought two pairs of pleated trousers and had to hold myself back on buying more! They are so hit and miss, but right now it's Fall hits, I tell ya.

  2. Give me a half sleeve any day. That's a great tee -- and one could fit the sleeves under a cardigan too.

I'm looking for trousers myself. Pants are hard!

  3. I have a thrifted top that looks almost exactly like the toast breton. Unfortunately, I think I am too short-waisted/short/something for this look, as it comes off as frumpy.

I love striped shirts and it's so frustrating I have yet to find a flattering one.

  4. Trousers and jeans are always the hardest to find...if I find a brand I usually stick with it. I like the Boy by Band of Outsiders Full length straight pant (Opening Ceremony), and Acne offers nice options: the Tapered suit pant, and the Gin washed marin (updated chino). I love the stripe shirts, but I have way too many. I am actually cleaning my closet at the moment, and I have a barely worn Muji Breton top up on my blog (half sleeve style).

  5. I am a huge fan of my sailor stripe shirt from Lands End Canvas - great cut and quality, better fit than Saint James and I am French :)

  6. I've tried every pant and jean out there and honestly have had the best luck with Gap jeans. I recently purchased these and they're really prefect. Although they're "cropped" they aren't really. One review describes them as the perfect audrey hepburn pant - which is true. I'm 5'4 by the way, they hit my ankle bone with cute darts. Okay - just thought I'd mention in case it's what you're looking for

  9. zara is a good suggestion. for some reason i never make it into the shop, but there's one in natick that's easier for me than newbury.

the boy band of outsider trousers look beautiful. not sure i can justify the expense, though.

  10. I purchased and returned the Land's End version of this top this summer. It was a very heavy scratchy fabric that really was closer to a sweater than a shirt. I really should just break down and buy the St.James one - I see j.crew is now selling them too.
