lately i've been drawn to minimalist oxfords like these. does anyone have the dieppa restrepo? i'd love to know if the leather is stiff at the ankles (my main problem), or if they run narrow.

I have the DP Cali in navy. The width isn't narrow -- I have wide feet and they fit well. The leather isn't the softest, but I think with time they'll break in just fine. Overall, the sizing is pretty true, maybe even a little bit large, in my opinion.
For a minimalist oxford, I highly recommend the ones from Madewell. They're quite affordable, nicely made and have been breaking in beautifully.
I'm so curious to hear what everyone has to say...I've been drooling over the dieppa's but haven't taken the plunge yet...
Been eyeing these too, but I'm glad to know the Madewells (another possible contender) receive high marks (thanks, featheropleather!).
Erica, this may start the whole RC debate again, but I have a pair of the derringers, which I quite wear often. They run a little narrow, I believe. I am curious about the Madewell pair. I now live by a brick and mortar, so I may just drop by.
i saw the madewells but didn't try them on because the letter seemed too stiff at the ankles. but it really depends on where the opening hits my ankle bone, so i may just have to go and try them on.
I have the RC derringers as well and I totally love them. I sized up on these because they do run narrow. But i find them to be totally comfortable and soft. I like wearing them without socks despite the fact that in the summer this totally ends up wrecking the inside of my shoes! maybe i'll get some madewells as a backup...
Hi, I just got my Dieppas today, and they seem pretty true to size. I was concerned because I'd read elsewhere (after purchasing them) that they may run 1/2 size too large, but I don't think so, at least not in terms of length. There's plenty of room in the toe box for slightly wider feet, but not so much that your feet are swimming in them. The shoe opening hits below the outer ankle bone on me, with 1 cm to spare. Leather is not as soft as zizis (not many are), but I suspect will break in nicely, as mentioned in a previous post.
I was worried about the Madewell quality but for the same price there are Frye ones. I had great luck with Frye in the past. There are on the Frye website.
I've got the dieppas, and they're great--they're cut really low below the ankle, so I've never had any problems...
