more dresses, and a shoe question

it looks like a lot of us are in love with these dresses (frolic and unruly things).

frances may has the prettiest dresses. not only is their shop in portland a treat to visit, but their blog and webshop are equally charming. i wish i were back West so I could go to all of my favorite shops this spring. i love these new church and state dresses (also available at le train bleu).

leanne suggested esska as a possible shoe option for us flat-footed, prone to blisters girls who avoid heels and other pretty shoes. has anyone tried them on?

you probably already know this, but just in case you don't - le train blue has a coupon code (bunnyshop) that can be used to get 30% off everything shop wide. I think the code ends the 9th. I was really close to getting the church and state striped dress but think I may look too pudgy in it. the bummer thing with the code is that if returned, you only get store credit (and I believe no returns allowed for stuff 40% or more off). love the shoes - I am going to check those out, thanks for sharing!

I love that top dress. Perfect for breastfeeding too.

thanks for the coupon code, romain, I think I am going to look into that.

when I first signed up with le train bleu - I was offered 30% off anything (expired a few weeks within me signing up). so if you've never signed up before, you may be offered a deal like that too! signing up is free and I think you just give them your email address.

i can't wait to see if anyone has tried on those shoes - aren't they lovely? also - i was admiring the same church and state dresses this morning. thanks for the coupon code! is it snowing in boston? in ct we're alternating between snow, sun and rain. odd.

romaine,
thanks for reminding me about the code, i had thought it expired already.

you're right, the striped dress could be tricky depending on your body type. i tend to look better with more of my shoulders bare, otherwise i feel like a linebacker!

leanne,
no snow here, but it sure is chilly. i would cry if it started snowing. will winter ever end?

moya,
the top dress would definitely work for breastfeeding and beyond. i love how simple it is, and the buttons are a nice touch.

I think the striped dress would be adorable with a wide belt. That type of easy shape up top can be so nice, esp. in the summer.

Love the Esska sandals. I remember seeing them on LTB earlier in the year; they must have sold out quickly!

i love the details of the backs of both the dresses

i love the back on that first dress!

that ticking stripe dress is great. also, cydwoq has low-heels similar to the esska ones. i think pedshoes keeps a good online selection.

I love the Quatre dress but true not ideal for b/f. The top one would be great in the same stripe as the Quatre dress... I'm making a cross-over elastic waist dress at the moment, and that second style could work too with a button front.

I love them both (and the silk stripe Dix dress they're selling at le t. b.). Very tempting!
Did you decide to buy one?...

Lucy or anyone,
what does b/f stand for?

Catherine said...

b/f = breastfeeding! Hence the need for a buttondown front.

Lucy,

duh!! thanks for clarifying. that dress would look very cute too with a button-down front. designers should be more thoughtful of breastfeeding mothers who like cool clothes.

lovely! i think those shoes look nice. you want a big of a heel--ironically, it's comfier than having a flat shoe. xoxo

i really like that sandal.

i love that there are some pretty sandal-flats out there these days for us non-heel wearing ladies. for a long time it was hard to find nice shoes that weren't heels. these are really cute -- thanks for sharing!
