This is possibly the most perfect coat I have ever seen.

Dang.

Oh God, that is gorgeous! I really need a new black overcoat but am with you on the $300 less thing...

Very pretty... I think Michelle Williams wears this one a lot.

so right Viv! Michelle W. wears last year's version, or older, in navy or similar blue. I follow her style on the thefashionspot.com because more than any other celeb, i love her fashion and style sense(though i haven't seen her act except in brokeback mt.)

i totally love the coat too. the ultimate in cute/cool. Erica, you would look so FAB in it!

ooh, navy would be even prettier. i'm not much for black clothing, it picks up my cats' hair like nothing else.

sigh, if michelle williams was seen in this coat, i doubt there will be any left for the sale racks. pff. i do love that drop waist detail, though. his fall collection has a lot of nice pieces.

love love LOVE this coat!

i never made the distinction before between cat hair showing up on navy vs. black. but come to think of it, you're right. i am always trying to get hair off my black clothing. regardless, cats are great:) (if not allergic to them).

fyi: saw the new apc madras collection today, but only on the european site.

Love this! Why are coats so hard to resist? I'm always tempted to buy a new one!

hehehe you're funny! ;)) oh but i love the coat!

thanks for the apc madras heads up, romaine! there are some cute pieces, we'll see how the US prices are. it's very 'prairie home companion'--not necessarily a bad thing.

i like many of the pieces too, i think my favorite is the striped pullover. maybe i am wrong and my memory is faulty (once again) but, after converting euros to dollars, prices seem to be significantly more than last year's fall/winter collection, though i did note many of the knits had cashmere or wool blends. maybe they are using higher quality materials for the madras items this year.

I absolutely love everything about this coat! Great pick. It doesn't hurt, of course, that it's cashmere. Mmmm....

@Romaine: Me too! I only look at that one Michelle Williams thread and don't even follow 'celebrity style.' I think she likes a lot of the same designers we like, plus she's got the benefit of having the perfect bone structure for clothes. She looks very, very petite, so everything looks great on her.

Wow . . . this is one of the most perfect coat I've seen.

Viv,
totatlly, M.W. has one of those bodies that can wear anything. no matter how much i work-out, i will not have that bone structure. but still, it is nice to get some inspiration from her style.

Steven Alan makes a nice pea coat at a more reasonable price: www.net-a-porter.com/am/product/49683.

I quite like this one too: www.net-a-porter.com/am/product/45444.

Totokaelo.com just list a JM coat - i think it is the same one though my monitor doesn't pick up black well unless lightened a bit.
