i got them in a dark grey, size 39. i wore them all day today and thought they fit pretty well. the 40s were like clown shoes, much too floppy and big. if only they had half sizes. i'm an 8.5 in pretty much everything, sometimes even a 9, but i think a lot of that has to do with my wide feet. with the laceups, this is less of an issue. i would say the bensimons run true to size (especially if you wear them barefoot).
last year Urban in Harvard Square had the bensimon for 14.99 it was nuts. It is funny for me because they were so cool in Paris and then became so uncool that now they are cool.

my bensimon's wore out so fast because i wore them all the time - honestly regretting not buying 10 pairs from m+o on sale.

i sized up half and they fit perfectly (with thickish socks or barefoot).
