i don't know how others feel about long skirts, but they remind me of the 90s, and not necessarily in a good way. maybe it's because i'm on the short side? i've seen a lot of girls wear the knife-pleated long skirt belted high with a tank with aplomb, but not too many with a bias long skirt.
i'm not sure what to think about this Isabel Marant etoile FW 11 floral skirt, but i do like the floral print quite a bit. i wonder if the dress comes in a lighter colorway...
I hate long skirts--they remind me of the 1990s and hippies and I really don't think they work on anybody. I waited the trend out in the 1990s and will do so again now. But I love the dress. It's perfect.
I'm a fan of long skirts on other people, but I have yet to try it on myself (this time around, at least). I also love that IM floral print, but a light-colored long skirt just makes me nervous. That hem would get so dirty. :)
I don't know why, but I just can't bear to wear anything that reminds me of the 80s or 90s, maybe because I spent too much time in long floral skirts. I just don't have the ability to look beyond my bias!
I think if you've lived through it the first time round you're less inclined to wear it when the style comes back. I absolutely love 80s music, but the clothes? No way! As for the 90s, well...
I passed two teenagers a while back and they were totally channelling the 80s complewte with high frizzy (possibly even crimped) pony-tail scrunchie-tied hair. It was hilarious! First time for them though. Even Lucy commented in wonder 'look mum, they're wearing their pyjamas!'

i love long skirts - especially in the summer - so comfortable and cute. they just have to be balanced out on top so it is not too conservative
