lovelies at anaise

aside from the fact that renee's blog is a source of inspiration, her shop anaise is a perfectly curated collection of nearly everything i could desire without feeling overwhelmed.

i don't wear heels, but the a detacher huxley buckle clogs are fun to look at anyway. i ordered these more practical clogs after seeing them on stephanie's svpply. they have yet to arrive, but hopefully they'll fit.

it's finally cold enough in toronto for knit tights. i've been wearing the same pair of kunerts for the past 10 years (the most comfortable waistband i have ever found), but a pair of alpaca tights sounds heavenly.

i'm slightly regretting my mociun wrap linen dress. it's a bit too tight in the shoulders and isn't really working as a maternity dress. i should probably just keep it because the print is awesome, and it's from the last collection. i'm still kicking myself for not having bought more of her men's tees because matthew lives in them. i probably would have been better off with a mociun blouse, but i can't have everything.

Maternity dress??? CONGRATULATIONS!!!

I am also in love with those A Detacher clogs. Oh, and thanks for the Kunert recommendation. The wool/cotton mix is enticing. I hate tights with uncomfortable waistbands.

thanks, renee!

jennifer, the kunerts are great, wool on the outside, cotton on the inside. i used to work in nordstrom's hosiery dept and was obsessed. they aren't as thick as some of the falke's, but i find them to be very warm. and the waistband is so much better than falke's elastic band (which i'm wearing right now and hating!).

Congratulations! With my second, I remember that despite my best attempt at wishing I can hijack cute clothes as maternity wear, nothing seemed to work to my advantage. I finally settled with some surprisingly flattering and comfy Target straight jeans and all kind of ill fitting tops. I had high hopes for dresses but in vain.

thanks anna, cheryl, m. and mona!

i am definitely feeling like this second pregnancy will be more challenging. my dresses will be fine, but i am now regretting not investing in a warm parka with full coverage the first time around. i am also desperate for a good pair of maternity jeans.

Hi Erica, this is off topic but I am in need/want of a really warm winter coat but hate puffers and synthetic stuff - was hoping for something wool with some sort of tech lining of primaloft or thinsualte or some such. Any chance you've scouted coats yet this season? I haven't bought a new coat in about 900 years and I'm ready to finally go through a winter feeling warm!

Hope you and the boys are still getting some sleep. Oscar was up at 5:10 this morning. Argh.

hmm, non-puffers are tricky. i'm only looking at down puffers (woolrich parka) because it's so roomy.

have you tried jcrew? they usually have thinsulate lined wool coats. i have a thick twill marc jacobs coat with a thin quilted lining, and it does nothing for the cold.

honestly nothing works better for me than a freshly waxed barbour with zip-in liner and a thick wool sweater (because the sleeves aren't lined). it does a decent job of keeping out the wind, and nothing beats those pockets for carrying all of my mama-related stuff. plus, you can wear it in the spring and fall.

Ooh, Barbour, I completely forgot about them. Will take a look. Keep us posted on your puffer hunt, I bet you'll find the best one!

Hi, erica. I took a bit of a blogging hiatus around the same time you did and just recently am poking around to see what's been going on in some of my favorite internet *friends'* lives. So many congratulations on so many things!! I am excited to follow along on your canadian adventure. Leon is, as always, beautiful!
