there and back again
we spent a lovely week in cambridge (bookended by two holiday weekends: victoria day/may two four and memorial day), catching up with old friends and enjoying the start of summer.
lunch with elias and julia at tampopo. new things from jcrew to tide me over until i can fit into my old things. new saltwater sandals in light brown (where did my old pair go??). oh, and i finally received my diploma and a funny little puffy velvet hat and tassel.
next sunday is our sixth anniversary. we're scheming weekend trips to montreal and the algonquin provincial park as well as a month-long stay in southern california. hooray for summer and half-days in the office!

yay, montreal and southern california-- my two homes! sounds like a fun summer!
Congratulations on finishing! Your trip looks like it was full of summer fun. I love all the different striped shirts that Leon is sporting. :)
the trip was awesome (aside from some unfortunate car-sickness at the beginning of the road trip). it isn't summer until you're wearing a pair of saltwaters!
that photo of the two littles asleep is adorable. CONGRATULATIONS on finishing!! doesn't it feel good?
That red cardboard (?) boat is the bees knees. They both look adorable sleeping away the car ride (and the quiet must have been quite nice for you too). That picture of Julia and Elias is hilarious - his expression!
I bought tan brown saltwaters this Summer. I really wanted the yellow and they'd sold out, but I am so pleased I got the tan. They go with so much and the thought of yellow now makes me think they would have spent longer in my wardrobe than my neutral pair.
We just went to Tampopo today - I had to take Jesse there because I kept talking about it!! It was really nice seeing you and meeting Elias, I hope I get you see you all again soon! :)
And I agree with Jennifer, Leon looks pretty awesome in all those stripes!!
catherine--that boat was for a baby girl's first birthday. i'm guessing it was a maurice sendak themed party? but they left it at the park afterwards, so nice of them! also, i struggled over the color choice and really wanted the yellow, but the tan goes with everything.
julia--i hope jess liked tampopo! i often think about the dynamite bowl and the tempura sensei ;)
joyce--it's so nice to finally say i'm done, really and truly done! it is pretty bittersweet, though. i miss the libraries....
jennifer--stripes are my best option for boys, but i'm thinking of experimenting with polkadots this summer!
