holding down the fort

leon and matthew both have a nasty stomach bug, so i've been left to keep the house tidy and everyone well hydrated. will post two new things tomorrow, a gap chambray shirt dress that i'm on the fence about, and an isabel marant etoile silk sleeveless top that is pure spring.

in the meantime, here's a post i did for pretty mommy's series, everyday obsessions.

I am definitely interested to see how the chambray dress fits you, Erica, and what you pair it with. I saw it at the GAP about a month ago, and it immediately appealed to me, but then I wasn't sure enough about whether I'd actually wear it to buy it. My local GAP also has a chambray peter pan collar shirt in the window that looks good, but I haven't seen it on the website. I hope Leon and Matthew are on the mend soon!

There was a chambray version of this dress at H&M, but more 50s cut, with the waist sitting higher and rolled up sleeves, which I love. I love chambray. I pair it with tights and my Rachel Comey booties for these chilly months, but I think it would make a great spring/summer dress.

I'm sorry to hear you guys are dealing with stomach bugs. Stomach bugs = no fun.

I hear you on the chambray dress. I've had mixed luck with the Gap.

Hope Leon and Matthew feel better too.

I love the other post--anemones are a big favorite of mine but they aren't easy to find.

hope leon is better soon. i woke up this morning with the stomach bug too, not fun. conducive to reading and daytime tv though. hang in there, i know little one's just want mommy when they're sick. you must have your hands full right now.

that gap dress is cute but it seems like it may be too cute without edgy shoes like those on the model to balance it. i can see why you are the fence though, the chambray looks nice and the style seems effortless and comfortable.

nice post of pretty mommy!

Erica,

Sorry to hear about the stomach bug. My family (2 kids and husband) and I just got over it. What a mess! Hope you all recuperate soon!

Erica, thought you might be interested to know that Acne black skinnies are on sale at Totokaelo and they still have a variety of sizes: http://totokaelo.com/store/product/2183

aww. stomach bugs are the worst. have you tried yogi green tea kombucha, erica? its a very nice soothing herbal tea that has just a little caffeine...a perfect mid-day brew.

very curious to see your review of the gap dress. i've stopped shopping at the gap due to quality and fit issues a few years ago. jcrew's pieces always beat them at both!

I'm liking chambray this spring too - it reminds me of a skirt I had in the 6th grade that I loved to pieces.

Love this chambray dress but drop waists are hard for me to pull off...
