shopping list for fall

jenny's and stephanie's posts on ankle boots has got me thinking about my wish list for fall. it'll be interesting to see which pieces i'll spring for now and which i'll wait for winter sales to purchase. i'm in the preliminary stages of drawing up a clothing budget. wish me luck!

first off.
things that really can't be on my list:
coats
tall boots

i say the same thing every year. let's hope i can exercise more self-control this season (examples of last year's failures).

to begin.
1. a party dress
tsumori chisato random dot dress at la garconne ($532)

steven alan soma dress in purple paisley, at domahoka ($330)

lina rennell ants shift dress, at beklina ($260)

2. sensible tops
humanoid linen and leather v-neck top at la garconne ($164 from $329)

steven alan heddy shirt ($188)

3. shoes
swedish hasbeens jodhpur boot, urban outfitters ($375)

lina rennell moccasins (by manimal), at beklina ($150, from $220)

4. will buy almost anything from

lebouton
wiksten
mociun

and finally.
5. a bauble

i'm looking for a charm necklace with the initial 'L.' something a bit off-beat, a little rough around the edges, but still substantial enough for every day wear. i haven't found anything suitable yet, but this will definitely be a big-ticket item. i wonder if hannah clark could make me something.

The Heddy top is one of my favorites. I don't know how long I can hold out before it has to be mine.

I love everything else on your list, too. Argh! So much temptation in this world. That Humanoid top especially!

nice list, love the heddy top too.

sundance has hammered letter charms, descriptions says they are 1.5 inches in diameter. not that quirky but may be worth a look. http://www.sundancecatalog.com/PRODUCT/43313.html

i know what you mean about waiting for sales or not - i have seen a few items on the top of my want list sold out already. though i will still probably take my chances and hold out for reductions.

correction about the charm, my catalog says they are 1.5 inches but the website says .5. that would not make them very substantial.

Ah, Erica.
You have such great taste.
I'll also splurge on almost anything from Jenny, Lisa, and Ms. Mociun.

Erica, the Steven Alan dress is already on sale at their outpost for $119. It runs very short, but I thought you'd be interested.

I love your list, and I'm pleased to see you thinking about items for yourself again.

moya-
are you kidding me?!? i wonder if the outpost will do a phone order...i tried on the spring version and found it to be extremely short. i would need a medium, i think. hmm, i guess it doesn't hurt to call them.

oh i love love love your list...you have such amazing taste!

I'd call them--I'm sure they do. They had this dress last week and I tried it on but it was ridiculously short on me. I loved it otherwise. I think you need a medium.

i called, and they said they only had last season's soma in the blue floral print. how annoying! i'm in love with that deep purple print, but the price of the blue one is very tempting.

i agree, definitely a medium, the small was much too short on me.

LOVE the steven alan dress! i have the same one, but in the brown w/polka dots.

albiet makes alphabet neckalces, but they are more delicate than rough-around-the-edges. xo

just a quick note to say (again) how very much I enjoy your fashion posts, ESPECIALLY wishlists; this is so inspiring!

Ankle boots are everywhere this fall, aren't they? My darling fella picked out and bought me a glorious pair of Genetas last fall that make me think of Spanish (Iberian) equestrian style. I'm sure this year's bounty of them (and their popularity) will inspire many new ways to style them. I can't wait to see what everyone else does with theirs!
