no. 6 clog boots

image from supernice
i can't find a photo of the short boots in fudge, so here's the tall boot version.

as much as i love the rachel comey short penpal boots (especially in navy), i'm pretty sure my feet would thank me to abstain.

matthew kindly reminded me that the quoddy tracker boots wouldn't work with the winters here, especially the salt on the sidewalks.

so i ordered these no.6 short boots in a dark brown. they're supposedly weather-proof, and i'm hoping they're comfortable. the shopgirl was super sweet and helpful. they're being made right now and should arrive by friday.

i still want the quoddys, but i should give my bank account time to recover.

oh these look so warm and comfortable! i'm so happy boot season is here. still reveling in finding my frye mini wedge ankle boots on sale last year.

these look like they'll stand up well to wear and weather. love that they're handmade to order too :)

i can't wait to hear how these work out. the shearling version looks super-cozy but i love the buckle on the ones you ordered.

Erica, I LOVE these boots! I visited Bird last week and they had them in the store and they looked so great. I have a feeling these are going to do the trick. I wear clogs year round and they are so comfortable and good to your feet. Plus, the soles last forever, so they are a good investment.

By the way, Bird also had your Jeffrey Monteiro pea coat. It is very special. I am not sure if you have tried it on, but I was a little surprised that it was on the thin side, because I thought it would be more heavyweight. But, it is seriously modern and beautiful, and with a heavy sweater underneath, would work for the winter.

thanks for the scoop on Bird. i suspected the Monteiro coat was a bit thin, it looks like a stiff and lighter weight wool. i am crossing my fingers i can find it on sale later on.

i'm glad to hear that you find clogs to be comfortable. i've never worn them before, so this should be an interesting experiment. i can't wait to see the no.6 boots in person, i think the darker brown is exactly what i need.

I debated between these and the penpal boots for so long. Even though I got the penpal's (which I love) I might just have to get these too.....
ack -blogs are too enabling:)

I actually woke up thinking about the ankle length boots... now, that's freaky! Or maybe it's just a sign that I really need them! I am between the black and dark brown. I am sure you will love the dark brown - but please let us know (and let me know on the sizing).

Oh! And as you are a first time clog wearer - It took me a while to get into clogs, they wear differently than other shoes, but now I love them!

Update: how did you like them? Verdict? I've been considering a purchase, too.....

I have the tall ones (just ordered the ankle version) and the calf is huge so they don't look quite as sleek as they do in photos. They're great under jeans - look clunky with skirts.
