scenes from fall in toronto

Leon's robot costume, fashioned from an old shoe box

i saw greasychickenface's pet portraits on megan's blog and knew it was time to have something done for hector and turtle. we're so pleased with the results.

after stephanie added these olsson clogs to her svpply, i ended up ordering them. it only took 2 1/2 weeks for them to arrive from sweden. i'm still patiently awaiting the arrival of my primoeza cardigan.  i'
leon became very ill right after i took these halloween photos and has spent the past week recovering. yet another reason to live close to family so you don't have to take time off from work because your baby can't go to pre-school. and now i'm sick, which marks my third illness since september. i'm off to baltimore in a week (conference), and then hopefully a nyc trip in early december. we've decided to drive because the plane tickets are so expensive after you add taxes and fees to fly in and out of toronto. i can't wait to be back in the city.

those clogs are adorable! the punched leather is great.

sorry to hear you and leon haven't been feeling well. the colder weather makes getting sick so unbearable.

Leon's getting so big! He looks so cute in his robot costume!

I've been thinking about getting some greasychickenface portraits done for Olive and Nori. Yours turned out beautifully!

jennifer, you should definitely get them done for olive and nori. they're incredibly affordable, and i love how they turned out. i think the colors are usually more fauvist, but i'm happy mine are a little more true to life. turtle is colorful enough as it is!

Love the cat art! So glad you posted this, I'm going to finally get a portrait of my dear departed Lulu.

Leon's costume rules.

i love your new clogs! i still wear the ones i bought from you last year. i ended up stretching them a tad by getting them wet and walking around in a pair of socks. they probably don't look quite as pretty and trim as they used to, but they are my favorite. :) hope you and leon get better real quick! it's that time of year... i'm taking lots of acidophilus these days.

I also love the cat art and contacted the artist about getting cat portraits of our three (I'm not telling Evan as I want to surprise him with a Remy painting). I may even get one for my brother and his wife for Christmas.

So sorry to hear that you and Leon were both sick. I hope you both recover quickly. I love your new home and neighborhood by the way. Leon is getting so big and looks lovely in his costume.
