i've seen people on lots of blogs i admire with ebay shops selling clothes they've never even worn! i've never bought anything that i didn't wear. i also have to think long and hard if i'll get good out of something. if you loved it so much, why didn't you wear it at least once?!-especially for the price tag. i love fashion but don't have the dispensable income to be so risky.
eric and jill-- sorry for not being more clear, i do not own either of these items. i wanted to buy the dress but it sold out before i had the chance. unfortunately, i wear a size 2 in isabel marant.

usually it only makes sense if you buy the item at 70 or 80% off since ebay bidders can be cutthroat. since i don't live in nyc or spend my days scavenging filene's basement, it doesn't make much sense to me.
great finds erica! i've been trying to curb my ebay browsing habit, because it can get obsessive. sometimes i think about scooping things up to sell on ebay if i find a great deal, or something that's sold out everywhere, but the fees are so high now that it's not worth my time, effort, or cost. i cannot wait until the new season of IM stuff comes out in stores-but i am hesitant at the same time. i will have to restrain myself quite a bit! anything specific you are looking to pick up from her new collection?
hmmm, i haven't thought too much about IM's fall collection yet. trying to regroup, crunch some numbers, you know, the usual! i wish the dress were a size larger, but i guess it's for the best that i abstain...
so weird, I actually have both the dress and the top. I love them both and wear them to death, but the dress is indeed very itchy. I have to wear it layered, usually with a striped l/s tee and stockings.
that top dress, i tried it on last summer, in amsterdam (*sigh*). it was snug and shortish (which you wouldn't think from the pic), and i passed in favor of a different one (looser, more me).

i like that IM dress, but i tried it on before and it is super itchy as it is not lined.
