williamstown
we drove to williamstown on saturday to pick up a friend and check out the new tadao ando building, the stone hill center of the williamstown art conservation center and clark art institute. aside from some expected concrete formwork issues, it is a lovely building. the bleached cedar siding not only smelled wonderful but also created the most subtle grey-pink-lavender tones.
i bought a pair of moccasins at an 'indian trading post' on the mohawk trail (rte. 2) and two MM6 pieces at The Browns in williamstown.
oh, and we stopped by a farm to see miniature goats, donkeys, and llamas (or were they alpacas?).
will post photos of my new dress and leggings (with knee pads!) if the sun ever comes out. it's been raining and dreary for nearly a week now...

It looks like a lovely trip, with all the lushy green - that building looks beautiful.
I'm hoping for sun in MA because can't wait to see the moccasins and leggings with knee pads!
i think that's a llama, maybe...
we went to an alpaca farm this past weekend. sweetest, most social creatures. heaven.
i think you're right, it probably was a llama. so soft, in spite of being generally matted and dirty as most farm animals tend to be.
stephanie-
i bought the regular suede kilty minnetonkas, and now i regret not buying them earlier. i can't believe how cushiony and comfortable they are. and so perfect for bicycling.
ha, what a cute llama!
that looks like a lot of fun!
oh erica... you were so close to my house... well... about 20 minutes away...
we live at the bottom of the mohawk trail and i've been to the big indian way too many times to make it sane! there's another shop further east of the trail... but, the big indian is, by far, the better of the two!
we're taking my mom out to williamstown next weekend...
if you ever find yourself headed towards the big indian again... let me know and i'll totally treat you to the best creme brulee ever!
tiffany, i didn't realize you lived so close by! i think we're going to north adams next month when the sol lewitt show opens. we should definitely have creme brulee then!
sounds like a plan in the making lady!
