i think we're going to the sale on sunday in brooklyn, but as lena just mentioned, pieces have already been marked down 50% online. i would buy a dress, but--well, i need to get presents for everyone else first...
I find they run big--I also find the tie in the front too bulky (I'm narrow there, and even with my height, it is a lot of fabric). I love the style in pictures, however.
i find the dress sizing to be really inconsistent, or maybe they run larger nowadays? my blue line tie-front dress from 2-3 years ago is a bit snug in the chest (S).
but recently i tried on the new dresses and thought i was swimming in the Smalls. so Susie, it sounds like you'd really need an x-small, and maybe even some alterations, too.
i haven't tried on the bauhaus t-shirt, but i imagine they run true to size. matthew has a potato print shirt (unisex cut) in a large. the scoop neck looks like it would be more form-fitting, so if it were me, i would go with a medium just because i don't like it to be super tight.
The tulip tie front dress runs big, but when I purchased mine the store (that had promotion) only had S even though I would need an XS - the S is a bit large but fits alright since I would wear layers underneath. This is now one of my favorite dresses - love the tulip skirt!
thanks for your thoughts. it looks like i waited a little too long to purchase the shirt because it's sold out:( it's probably for the best since i shouldn't be spending money on myself right now. thanks again!
i think the bauhaus shirt would look so cute on your pregnant self- you should definitely pick one up. hope the shopping in successful on sunday- i know we'd all love to see what you score. also, the steven alan article is great. congrats!

thanks for the tip! how do you find her dresses run? i think i probably need an xs, in which case i'm out of luck on the tie-front dresses.

hey erica- have you ever tried on the bauhaus t-shirt? i'm also curious how the sizing goes. i'm debating between the small and the medium. thanks!

that's too bad about the shirt selling out. hopefully i can pick up a shirt on sunday, but i really shouldn't be buying stuff for myself, either!
