i think i've found my sandals

Chelsea posted about these custom-fit sandals by Sara Barner. We're going to Oregon next month to visit Matthew's family, so hopefully I can squeeze in an appointment in Portland. They're exactly what I've been looking for, and what with my shoe fit problems, I don't know how I can go wrong with a custom-fit job!

Sara also makes lovely minimalist bags and jewelry.

We're going to stay in Monroe (near Eugene), but hopefully will spend a day or two in Portland. I can't wait to go back, since it's been nearly 2 years since I was there.

We'll be there mid July, right after the Brimfield Antique market.

Tiffany, have you been to this before? I just learned about it and can't wait to go.

there must be something about seattle and its amazing indie boutiques! if you're interested, there's this brand of handmade shoes called 'cydwoq' that carries some amazing stuff. ped shoes in seattle carries them, if you're in the neighborhood.http://www.pedshoes.com/

i ordered a pair of cydwoq flats from them last year - their service was awesome.

Those sandals are lovely! They are surprisingly inexpensive, for custom fit. I love the Maudes as well.

I love the sandal! Have fun in Portland. I've been eyeing the Cydwoq lately since flip flops feel too...undergrad for me to wear them now. Do you own a pair from Cydwoq? how are they? I've been also looking at pairs from Cocobelle and K. Jacques but I like the architectural edge the Cydwoq has...

i've never tried cydwoqs on, but a local store carries them and sometimes i go in and ogle them. they look like they're incredibly well made and great for your feet.

it's true, flip flops don't really go with anything, and they're terrible for your feet. and yet, i can't stop wearing them! it's the summer slob in me, i guess.

erica and nanashi, pardon me for the excessive gushing about cydwoqs, but i'm a hopelessly enamored convert ever since i found a pair on sale at tani shoes in nyc last summer. i think they're popping up more and more in boutiques and upmarket shoe stores generally...

but next time you're in a store definitely give in to the temptation to try them on - the insole gives you the cushioning you'd get from a pair of birks, and it's somehow engineered to still retain its unique, sleek shape. definitely on the cutting edge of footwear for women!

Erica, Miss Sophie, thanks for the advices! I just placed an order for my first pair of Cydwoq sandals (three styles are on sale at Diana Kane's online shop). I've been wearing the same pair of boots by Patrick Cox for five years so I figured investing in a good sandal isn't too bad assuming it lasts me for years.

Don't know why I didn't see this post 'til now...
I'm delurking since you mentioned something about it in your clothing giveaway posts. I love Sara's work. We carry her wallets at the shop where I work in Portland, and I've been happily following her business grow here. So glad you featured her lovely pieces!
