It looks like a beautiful time - and that apartment is gorgeous.

I may need to look up Maurice when I go in March.

we did indeed go to the surplus store, but they didn't have much in our sizes. i'm still bummed i missed the web sales, i think that would have been cheaper. oh well!

erica! You look so cute in your Paris outfit! I was shocked to see that the mittens made it to Paris! :D The apartment is really nice, do recommend renting in Paris as opposed to hotels? And what an adorable kitty, it's nice he felt he could fit right it.

erica-
i love my mittens so much, they were toasty warm and perfect for Paris.

the apartment belongs to my adviser, who kindly let us stay there. i don't know how cost effective it is, but i really loved having a kitchen and washing machine for the 6 days. it was so nice to buy pain au chocolat every morning for breakfast with our yogurt. we hardly ate out and packed sandwiches for our excursions.

food, museums, and metro/RER were our main expenses, and we managed to stay under 40 euros/day total. the apartment really helped cut food costs, it seemed.

40 EUR a day for two? That's amazing! I was in Paris 2.5 years ago...longing to go back, seeing your photos. You seem to have packed really well!

Le chat is really adorable, too.

you look great. what wonderful pictures.
do you speak french?
he totally looks like a maurice.

erica said...

once upon a time i spoke french, but it's become quite rusty in the past 5 years or so. i still managed to get my point across half the time, but it made me a bit wistful for not having kept working on the language.

maurice had a crazy eye, sometimes i thought he might attack, but overall he was a sweet cat.

I'm glad you had a great time--that's a beautiful apt and Maurice is a beautiful chat.

I also ate way too many pains au chocolate while I was home. They are so yummy with coffee.
