le bouton linen dress on etsy

this is the last time lisa will list her linen dress on etsy. there are 10 available, made to measure, in the color of your choice. it's $180 right now, but the price will go up when she adds it to the le bouton catalog. now's the time to order if you've been on the lookout for one.

i just ordered a bunch of things for leon, so now of course i'm feeling guilty and can't decide whether to order this dress or something from makie or matta instead.

Lisa's dress is lovely. I've been admiring it as well (as well as the Japanese pants). However, I had a flashback to breastfeeding and wished (for your sake) the dress had buttons down the front!

I love this linen dress, but the Matta dress is the one that's really calling my name.

pam,
are you going to order the japanese pants? i am worried they won't look as good on me as they do on lisa.

i wish the dress had buttons down the front, too! it's funny how breastfeeding is dictating all of my fashion thoughts.

carlene,
the matta dress has such a gorgeous print, i'm sure it would be perfect for spring-summer-fall. i am leaning towards the makie shirt dress, but then again, i would like all three!

Erica!
I just saw that Sunja Link dress this weekend, and had to keep myself from unloading the credit card at totokaelo. That is one awesome dress. Funny that you posted it!

As for the Japanese pants -- I have been comtemplating that purchase for three weeks. I am not built like Lisa, either. What do you think we should do??

Maybe we should tell Jill Wenger we'll take 2 Sunjas in size Med. and call it a day!!

I like the linen Le Bouton best, but it really doesn't do the job for breastfeeding.

pam,
you may be on to something...i wonder how the sizing runs on the dress?

moya,
i feel i'm fighting a losing battle against breastfeeding-appropriate clothing. next time i'm in nyc i should stock up on SA reverse seams.

Erica...too funny!
I just posted about Lisa's dress on my blog.

I got the dress, and the Japanese pants.
I'm not exactly built like Lisa either- I'm pretty thin, but I've got a bigger bum- but dammit! I'm sick of wearing jeans all the time.
And they are such cool pants!
It's nice to know my hard earned $ is going to support Lisa & her work.
I bet she would make you a dress with buttons!

i love both the le bouton and makie dresses but maybe favor the le bouton because it is more original. I know they both don't facilitate breastfeeding, but you won't be breastfeeding forever or even if for along time, maybe just a few minutes a day (under an hour) and so could take dress off then? please don't take me as being flippant - I breastfeed one of my kids until they were 3 years old - by that age it was just before bed time, every otherday or so... I am going to consider that le bouton for myself, thanks for posting about it and the others! all those dresses seem timeless in their own way.

jennifer,
do post photos of the dress and pants, i know many of us would love to see them worn by someone else! i'm always afraid that loose-fitting pants will look like pj bottoms on me...

romaine,
so true, breastfeeding won't last forever, even it goes for longer than a year. it's hard to think in those terms right now, when i feel like i've hardly moved from leon's nursing chair. considering the price point, i think lisa's dress would make the most sense for me.

that matta dress is so cool! get that dress!
i'll always make the linen dress. that matta print will go way though...

lisa, that's so sweet that the dresses are going toward frances's vacation.

isn't the matta dress great? too many dresses, not enough funds for all of them....

Both wonderful dresses!

Lisa, your lovely linen dress could so easily accommodate buttons, maybe further down the track? I am in the process of making a few pieces for my nursing-clothing dilemma. Currently I live in jersey knits and singlets, gets a little dull though. Though my sewing time of late consists of fits and starts - something to do with having a baby and a toddler. Audrey needs winter gear already, so I'll get going with the wool and cashmere knits. Again, this child will dress better than moi it seems.

I need to sew for my sanity.
Erica, what do you do in that regard?

so great that you're working through the nursing-clothing conundrum. i find most of our options are ridiculously ugly.

audrey will be so adorable in her little wool and cashmere knits! i am excited about planning ahead for leon's winter wardrobe, since he'll probably be crawling around in next to nothing this summer.

as for my sanity, my adviser is keeping me busy. i also watch more than my fair share of tv online. but seriously, being able to jog again has really boosted my mood. i wish i had a sewing machine (and space for one), i could at least while away the hours making pillow cases or something similarly easy!

if only my technical skills could accommodate buttons/holes for that dress! maybe, when it goes into the catalog... i am, however, inspired by that wrap dress, not too DVF idea. i'm thinking on this one!
