it's the end of the line for me. i will be posting quite a few things on LoGE in a last ditch effort to get my house in order. i'm not sure how much longer i'll maintain LoGE, but not indefinitely. i've met so many lovely people through this blog, for which i'll always be grateful. but there are so many blogs out there now, and i need to focus on other things like applying for postdocs and finishing my PhD program.

the weekend

rolling back the clocks means no more late afternoon hijinks in the city for a while. hoping for sunshine and maybe a little shopping to prep the apartment for the holidays. have a lovely weekend!

i think these gorgeous beanbags are the solution to at least half of my problems.

maybe it's the season, but i've become obsessed with making my apartment cozier, more livable. ever since we cleared out half our belongings in a failed attempt to sell our place, it's been looking too spartan for my tastes. if i were in nyc, i would jump at the chance to buy john robshaw textiles at sample sale prices.

worn a few times while in paris two years ago, my mayle galina jacket has turned into a museum piece, just for looking. i hate being ruthless, but there's no point in owning something meant to be worn if i never wear it. 

size 8, although it fits me (6).

chest: 13 1/2" where the black jacquard meets the wool body, and 19" pit-to-pit (hard to measure because of the pleats that are both front and back)

these frye carson oxfords ($178) are 20% off with "WALKTHISWAY" until nov. 8. i'm not sure which size i should get. it looks like they're out of the 8 1/2 in fawn. my paige riding boots are an 8, but it's hard to know how the sizing runs in other styles.
