Remember these pants?

Remember the Rachel Comey Indium Pants that I blogged about months ago? They're now half off. Still too much for me considering they're silk and I haven't had the chance to try them on for fit.

I also saw a colleague wearing pristine condition No. 6 black ankle clog boots, and it made me sad because mine are in such disrepair. Not only are the stitching and staples loose, but the wood at the toe is beaten up from clomping up too many stairs. Maybe it can be fixed, but I'm worried this is it for my boots. A silly part of me wants to order a new pair even though mine didn't last very long. I know there are other clog ankle boots out there, but I like the narrower ankle opening on these the best. I wonder if there are any other options for me? The platform sole is great for puddles and small amounts of slush and snow.

Mine are on their 4th winter now. The leather is holding up fine but the stitching on one heel is coming out, I keep meaning to repair it. The wood is also a little worse for wear & the sealant is cracking in many places. I thought about getting another pair with the black wood on the bottom, but wondered also if I should try another company, but like you said, I like the cut/shape the best of these. I figure I can at least holdout til next winter...I hope :)

Swedish Hasbeens Jodhpurs have a narrow ankle opening similar to the No.6... they wear really well if you take good care of them, too. But I think the proportions are slightly different (not by much).

I have been longing for a pair of No.6 shoes all season (the Classic Shoe on High Heel, but reading about how well they hold up is giving me pause...

I don't know if they still custom make their boots, but I have a pair in patent leather that has held up incredibly well for 4+ years. Plus the leather is super water/snow proof.

I think maybe I'm not very good at taking care of my shoes. I also have a tendency of hitting the steps, so the toe cap and sole are pretty rough looking. We'll see what the shoe repair place says.

I haven't worn my No.6s in nearly two years, and it's a shame because I think they look great and are super comfortable for someone who normally doesn't wear more than a 1/2" heel.

I used to have those ankle boots and sold them on LoGE. I never found them comfortable because the top of my foot felt... constricted? I am a fan of the Bryr clogs and have the Phoebe boots, which are laceup, and therefore more adjustable. They are cut a little wider than the No. 6. Buckle Boots, but you can adjust the narrowness at the top due to the lace.

Jade, that's good to hear about Bryr. I didn't realize that Sven also makes clogs for them as well as for No. 6.

The shoe repair person seems to think that she can fix my clogs, we'll see how they look when I pick them up tomorrow.
